NWTF RED ROCK CHAPTER MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 20, 2008
Meeting was called to order at 7pm
Vice President: The corporate banquet invitation letters were sent October 2. Nine JAKES gun raffle tickets (out of fifty tickets) are still available. Dale made a motion for the Chapter to buy 5 tickets, and the motion was accepted by the Chapter. The banquet letter is available for review, with a goal for the letters to be sent by November 10.
Treasurer: Beginning balance: $4475.31. Ending balance: $5443.91. 50/50: $658.43.

JAKES: The outdoor cooking instructor has been confirmed for the event.
Turkey Hunters Care Program: 62 turkeys have confirmed recipients. We will submit a photo and article to publicize the donations.
President: Dale noted orders are needed for the conservation seed program. Chastity sent the NWTF scholarship information to 16 schools and 6 organizations. Damien questioned the increase in cost of memberships, specifically JAKES, the area we need to market the most. Ray Smith noted that the membership fees, even with their increase, are still very competitive with other organizations. Dale did not yet check on new chapter shirts. Ray Smith noted Cabela’s has a new catalog out with shirts. Safety equipment will be discussed further at a future meeting. Ray Smith encouraged early reservations for the NWTF PA State Rendezvous January 10, 2009, as new CEO George Thornton will be attending. The national convention will be in Nashville . The NWTF PA state website is now a “.org”, and was recently updated.
Banquet: Joann will be banquet treasurer and ticket chairperson. She noted the banquet tickets are available. Pat Mitchell, who was not present, was elected to manage the underwrites, but Berny will do the underwrites if Pat is unable. The banquet letter was reviewed and changes noted. Ray Smith distributed the new banquet auction package brochures and reviewed the auction items. He also provided and reviewed the list of guns we have available for the banquet. Ray discussed a new program for 2009, the “Chapter Challenge”- if the chapter gains 25 new members, chances for a Wyoming turkey hunt, with a value of $850, will be earned. Dick Arnold made a motion to accept the challenge, and the Chapter accepted. Damien will arrange the multi-media presentation. We need to confirm our auctioneer. $400 will be used to purchase items for the Sportsman’s Raffle. Chastity agreed to purchase the items, which were very successful at last year’s banquet.
