Habitat: The state gamelands ride was October 7. There is now an Adopt a Food Plot program through the Bradford Conservation District in which volunteer mileage can be reported to obtain funds via grants for food plot maintenance.

President: The scholarship letters have been sent by Chastity to 18 schools. She also contacted 4H and boy and girl scouts to make them aware of the scholarship program. The fluorescent orange issue was voted 7-0 in favor of rescinding the orange law for spring turkey season. The Board will vote in January. Dale noted there is negative publicity regarding this, and encouraged contacting our commissioners to support the voluntary use of orange. Dale noted the statistics show no change in accidents with orange vs. no orange. Funds are still available from the Muncy Creek/Red Rock joint project that did not take place. Our chapter agenda will be revised and made available to chapter members at the November meeting. The agenda will also be on our web site. There are several projects tentatively planned for the upcoming year. Regarding the Turkey Hunters Care program, Shawn obtained a price of 99cents/lb. for the turkeys. 104 turkeys will be ordered. Shawn will pick up the turkeys and will also send a press release regarding the giveaway to newspapers. The turkeys will be distributed at our next meeting on November 12. Dale suggested having a raffle to regain some of the funds used to purchase the turkeys. Chapter members suggested daily number tear-off tickets. The Sarah Dymond School project has officially been approved for 3 years. Tony is looking into getting the Diamond Life Member jacket. He also suggested a chapter Christmas party.

JAKES: Chastity will once again chair the JAKES event for 2008. The date has been set for April 20, 2008. Chastity noted that Jim Jolley from the Game Commission gave confirmation that they would assist with the shooting range if a more safe location is found.

Banquet: George’s Reloading will be donating a gun for our banquet, a Ruger .204 or a Mossberg 20G shotgun. Chapter members voted for the Ruger .204. The banquet tickets are available. Dave Zabofski needs everyone’s e-mail address by next meeting so he can communicate any news regarding banquet planning. We will add our website address on each page of the banquet letter.
