RED ROCK CHAPTER MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 12, 2007
The turkeys for the Turkey Hunters Care Program were distributed prior to the meeting.
Meeting was called to order at 7:20pm.
Vice President: The banquet letters have not been sent due to more postage being required on the envelopes. The extra postage will be obtained and the letters will be sent during this week.
Treasurer: Beginning balance: $4496.14. Ending balance: $4476.14. 50/50: $494.00.
Habitat: Dale has talked to Mr. Williams the land manager and gave him suggestions for projects. The Sugar Run area on SGL 57 was limed several years ago and is now overrun with weeds and needs clearing. A border cut is also a suggested project. Dale contacted the people we received the apple trees from last year to see if they have any available.
President: For the Turkey Hunters Care Program, we obtained 110 turkeys at 89cents/lb. Shawn will gather information on the organizations the turkeys were donated to, and they will be posted on our website. Shawn will also send out press releases and photos. The report on the giveaway will be submitted to National. Regarding the Diamond Life Member jacket, Tony suggested getting the jacket from the NWTF for $125, and will order it. Daily number raffle tickets cost $5 per 100 tickets. Tony will obtain two batches of tickets. This raffle will offset chapter costs for the turkey giveaway. The NWTF Pennsylvania Rendevous will take place in State College January 5, 2008. The Conservation Seed Program is coming up, and Dale asked interested chapter members to provide their seed orders.
Banquet: Bill Arnold will work on the banquet program, as he has in previous years. Dick and Chris will stop by Senator Lisa Baker’s office for a full-page program ad. We did not yet receive any posters for the banquet. Donor slips and decals should be available at the next meeting.
