We also have funds available from Muncy Creek. Damien asked about a follow-up with the Sarah J. Dymond project, to include checking the water runoff situation after heavy rains, construction of kiosks for identification of trees or laser engraving of plaques. Damien also informed the chapter of a project March 22 at 10am at the Frances E. Walter Dam for a cutting project with the JAKES, in cooperation with Pheasants Forever. Dale noted how supportive we are of other organizations, with an example being the DCNR project with its large turnout of volunteers.

JAKES: Dean Nulton obtained multiple donations and underwrites for the event. We have at least 25 registrations, in comparison to 12 last year at this time. Christine, in managing publicity, has the event listed in many venues. The confirmed instructors and courses are Mountain Man, outdoor survival, and archery. The Game Commission is confirmed for the shooting range. West Wyoming Ambulance is confirmed for EMS. John’s Signs will once again do the T-Shirts at no increase in price ($5), and in any color. Tan was the color decided. The chapter voted to buy pencils with our website on them for an approximate cost of $70. Cindy will order the pencils. Chastity has had many parents expressing interest in helping at the event. National used some of our JAKES Event scrapbook photos from last year for publicity. The JAKES Committee meeting will be April 13, 2009 at 7pm at the Farmer’s Inn.

Dale asked for volunteers to help with the DART system at the Pennsylvania Outdoor Life Expo. Turkey Talk Magazine is planning a survey to collect data related to turkey activity. The contact information for Jim Panaro was provided for those interested. Dale discussed House Bill 92, which addresses obtaining hunting licenses electronically vs. on paper. Dick asked about a Boy Scout group that would like to borrow our bows. Tony looked into purchasing the daily number lottery tickets for fund-raising, but they were out of stock. We received a thank you letter from our scholarship recipient.

Banquet: Tony will get a plaque made to present to Genetti’s as a gesture of appreciation. The banquet date is set for January 30, 2010.
