RED ROCK CHAPTER MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 17, 2008

Meeting was called to order at 7:10pm

Vice President:  The NWTF mirror was obtained at the Lower Lackawanna Chapter banquet for Dave Zabofski’s family,  at a cost of $10 to our chapter.  Berny offered to represent our chapter in delivering the mirror and a plaque to Kelsey’s.

Treasurer:  Beginning balance:  $31,388.39.  Ending balance:  $3,908.89.  50/50:  $464.00.

Habitat:  Some of the cut on Cider Run was completed March 8, to resume March 22, 2008 at 8:30am, meeting at the bridge.  The Sorber Mountain annual road clean-up is April 27 at 1pm.  A project for Newell Road is upcoming, with the date being tentative.  Dale plans to obtain soil samples there in the upcoming week.  The Sarah Dymond School project is still pending.

President:  The Sarah Dymond School project still needs planning.  Damien suggested clearing trails and planting plants that would attract birds and butterflies, as well as posting plaques identifying plants and trees.  Damien and Dale will meet in the upcoming week, likely March 25, to assess the area.  We will have another fund-raising raffle with the daily number tickets.  Tony Landi will obtain the tickets, which will be distributed at the next meeting.  Damien provided the award plaques for our banquet donors.

Banquet:  Tony received a letter from National congratulating our chapter on achieving Golden Gobbler status.  Tony will look into other venues for next year’s banquet, such as a church or fire dept. hall with catering, that would substantially increase our meal profit.

JAKES:  We still need some instructors for the learning stations- outdoor cooking, orienteering, forestry, outdoor survival, and possibly turkey calling.  Chastity discussed donations we have received, such as hot dogs and buns, ammunition, etc.  Items for the goodie bags were discussed.  The menu will be hamburgers and hot dogs.  Cindy has sent out press releases for the event.  The T-shirts will once again be obtained from John’s signs, gray in color, at a cost of approximately $5/shirt.  The next JAKES meeting will be March 31, 2008.
