NWTF RED ROCK CHAPTER MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 16, 2009
Meeting was called to order at 7:10pm
Vice President: No report
Treasurer: No report available
Habitat: The DCNR block cut project is February 28, 2009. Interested volunteers should meet at 8am at Fedor Rd. off Rt. 118. There is an application/waiver form available on line for DCNR projects. The apple tree pruning project is set for March 21, 2009 on SGL 57. The meeting point will be 8am at the parking area off Rt. 487 just after Mountain Spring Rd. The project will include a seminar and attendance by various organizations.
JAKES: Dick, Dale, and Chastity met with Cliff at Moon Lake Park. We will be able to utilize all facilities, but we will not have help from park staff as we have in the past. Cliff can open the park for tent set-up. Cliff asked if we would be willing to have a work day April 4 at 9am at the park to help get the lake ready for trout season, likely involving moving boats and preparing the dock. JAKES membership fees have increased, but our JAKES event registration forms do not reflect an increase in price. Chastity encouraged members to get as many donations, class sponsors, etc. as possible to help defray costs. The menu will consist of hot dogs and hamburgers. There is a new pavilion at the park, and we may not need to rent a tent. Classes confirmed so far are outdoor cooking for both the JAKES and Extreme JAKES, and archery.
President: Dale thanked everyone for their dedicated and hard work for a successful banquet. There are petitions for Moon Lake Park available. Damien will be updating our web site to include our banquet. We will need updated photos of our officers and committee members for the web site and members are reminded to wear Red Rock Chapter shirts for the photographs which will be taken at the March meeting. Damien suggested having a listing of all our projects, activities, and achievements on our web site.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm
