Habitat Multiple projects have been planned. A border cut along a food plot we had previously planted at Sugar Run was scheduled for January 24, 2009. On February 28, a block cut at Lackawanna State forest will be done in collaboration with the DCNR and the North Branch of the QDMA. Dale discussed the potential to buy the timber from this project and sell it as a fundraiser. Damien presented an opportunity for an educational tree pruning seminar with other service organizations at SGL 57, with a tentative date of March 28, 2009. A planting project at Beth Run is planned tentatively for April. Polly obtained prices on safety equipment. Hard hats with visors and earmuffs are $27.84 each, and the better-quality chaps are $84.21 each. The chapter voted to purchase 10 sets for approximately $1200. Members were also given the opportunity to purchase the equipment for personal use if desired. We will do the daily number raffle fundraiser, beginning in February, to defray the cost. The raffle fundraisers will be conducted monthly to raise funds for the chapter.
