THE RED ROCK CHAPTER DID IT AGAIN!!! BEST J.A.K.E.S. EVENT FOR THREE YEARS IN A ROW- 2006 2007 2008
The JAKES (Juniors, Acquiring, Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) Program is designed for youth ages 17 years and younger.
A JAKES Event gives youth the opportunity to learn about the traditions of hunting, habitat management, ethics, safety and regulations and knowledge and tools to take into the outdoors. Our event features hands on learning stations designed for JAKES and Xtreme JAKES to experience the outdoors with their friends, family and community in a fun and exciting way.
An Xtreme JAKES Program is geared to offer more challenging and age appropriate activities to appeal to teenagers.
About the Award
The Red Rock Chapter was recently recognized on February 25, 2007 for hosting one of the "Outstanding JAKES Events for 2006". Our chapter received an award for Best Overall Event for 151-250 JAKES participants. Our event was judged on presentation, quality of learning stations, state/federal agency involvement, newspaper/tv coverage, corporate/community sponsors, special activities and JAKES participants.
Our chapter would like to thank everyone who made this event a success.
Chastity King, J.A.K.E.S. Chairperson, attended the National Convention to receive the award.
